5-Time Super Bowl Champion Pepper Johnson Selected as IMG Academy Head Coach

" Coach Pep is one of the greatest football players in history. Nobody gets 5 Super Bowl rings on accident. He's a future Hall of Famer", said 2-Time Pro Bowler Brandon Meriweather who played under Johnson with the Patriots. “He's a player's coach, real old school, but willing to do anything to make us better and to have a good time,” 2022 Ohio State four-star offensive tackle target Tyler Booker said of his new head coach. “He’s going to demand the most out of us.”

A two-time Pro Bowler, Johnson finished his professional career with 983 tackles, 25.5 sacks, 14 interceptions, and 12 forced fumbles across 13 seasons. " This is one of the great honors of my life to help kids develop to the best of what they can be. Being selected as the Head Coach of the IMG Academy will allow me to do this. I've been coaching the best in the world for a long time so I know what these kids need to do now to get to where they want to go." explained Johnson. "So it's even more special to be there at the beginning before college and NFL.", said the Ohio State All-American. IMG Academy were the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS last season 2020 with Johnson as the defensive coordinator. His coaching led to IMG only giving up 10pts a game and helped them achieve the #1 ranking in the nation in high school football according to USA Today Rankings. Coming off an undefeated season in 2020, Coach Johnson's execution as the Defensive Coach last year was instrumental. "To have someone with Pepper's stature and history in our area is an honor. Someone with that kind of winning experience on both sides of the fence as player and coach. That's a rare thing in any sport. I can definitely see why IMG selected him out of all the candidates for this leadership role." said Charlie Williams, CEO of the World Sports Alumni.
